About Us

The Lower South Valley Land Bank, established in 2022, is made up of six municipalities and one school district, including the following: Ashley Borough, Hanover Township, Newport Township, the City of Nanticoke, the City of Wilkes-Barre, the Municipality of Kingston, and the Hanover Area School District. The Land Bank’s purpose is to address blighted, vacant, abandoned, and tax delinquent properties and transition these properties to beneficial reuse using a unified, predictable, and transparent process in order to revitalize communities and strengthen their respective tax bases.
